Mild confusion at the beginning when I didn't grok Ayami's flashback, but not a big deal.
I even learned a new word, which I may or may not remember going forward, as a fancy word for a particular type of cloth is not important to my vocabulary.
Thank you for leaving a comment! That always helps with reach! The initial flashback is a bit jarring but I chose to trust my reader to "catch up" rather than overly spoonfeed with transitions. The story has a forward and back, forward and back structure. The first shift is kind of a surprise but I think it smooths out.
